In this review, the author shows a way how to fix a large hole in a tile with your own hands so that there are no differences with the rest of the flooring plane.
This method can be useful to those who make repairs in the house on their own.
First of all, you need to remove all the debris and ground the base in the place where the hole is. It is best to use a deep penetration primer.
After that, mix the tile adhesive with sand (1: 1) to prepare the solution. It is advisable to make it as thick as possible.
Why with sand? The fact is that tile adhesive itself gives a lot of shrinkage, especially with a large layer. Thus, the presence of sand in the solution will make it possible to reduce shrinkage.
The main stages of work
We cut out a template from a sheet of paper, according to which later it will be necessary to cut a piece of tile.
After we have prepared a solution of tile glue and sand and cut out a piece of tile, we can proceed to repair the flooring.
We fill the hole in the floor with the prepared solution, and leave it for about 30 minutes - it will give initial shrinkage.
Then add a little more solution, mixing it before use, and lay a piece of tile.
It is necessary that the “patch” protrudes above the floor surface by a couple of millimeters, since there will still be a slight shrinkage.
