As a rule, an observation board most often refers to lumber of the second grade, so it is rarely used for the manufacture of furniture for an apartment or a house. Usually such a board goes to the crate or is used for construction work.

However, with proper processing, even from such a "modest" and inexpensive material, you can create a small masterpiece with your own hands, which will look stylish and expensive in any interior.

The main stages of work: preparation and assembly

First of all, it is necessary to cut the observation boards into bars and pass them through the thicknesser. The surface of the workpieces should be smooth and even - this is extremely important for further gluing.

Then we glue two halves of the countertop for the coffee table, after which we select a quarter for the installation of glass. For this we use here a special mill.

At the next stage of work, we proceed to the manufacture of legs. To do this, cut the inspection board into pieces of the desired length, then dissolve into bars and glue them in pairs.

Then we pass the glued bars through the thicknesser and glue again, so that in the end we get a blank of square section.

After gluing the workpiece, we again pass it through the thicknesser, process the edges with a hand mill, and then cut it to size and saw it at an angle on the miter saw.

Then the blanks are milled, and then glued together: first you need to glue one corner of the frame, then another. And then the two corners stick together.

We drill holes at the ends of the corners of the wooden frames, and then twist the screws. The holes themselves are corked with "corks" of wood. The result was a hidden fixture.

Using furniture dowels, we connect the parts of the countertop and the legs of the coffee table. The bottom is mounted on the side for greater rigidity. Then everything is pulled together by long clamps.

The assembled table is covered with mineral oil or colorless varnish, after which we set the glass in the center of the countertop. The result is a very stylish and original coffee table, which will always be in the spotlight.
