Usually, simple clamps are used to fix blanks or parts. But in some situations, they are impractical. For quick fixation, you can use a home-made severe male "clothespin" (clip) made of metal.
In order to make the device with your own hands, you will need: one metal profile tube of square section (no more than 1 meter long), a steel plate (at least 10 mm thick), spring and fasteners: washers, bolts with nuts.
From the main tool for work, you will need an angle grinder, as well as an electric drill. First, we take a metal profile pipe of square cross section and cut off two identical pieces of about 20 cm by a grinder. We take the washers and weld from one end on each tube.
The main stages of work
Clamp a piece of pipe in a vise, and backing off about 5 cm, cut out a triangle - in order to further bend the pipe with a corner. We do the same with the second tube. Next, we alternately bend the tubes with a corner and weld the seams. In each tube, approximately in the center, we drill one through hole for the bolt.
Taking a metal plate, cut out a small square or rectangle. Then you need to weld the workpiece to the bent end of the tube. As a result, we got a kind of "heel" clothespins - clamping lips.
We put one bolt through the washers and tighten it with a nut (not so tight that the clothespin can bend and unbend). We take the spring and fix its ends with the caps of two bolts inserted into the holes drilled in the center of each tube.
Next, tighten the bolts so that the spring does not fly off. Homemade clothespin-clip made of metal is ready. Time spent on work - no more than 1 hour. This device will be useful for fixing the subject in a certain position or just for fastening.
