To bend the reinforcement, as well as square and round steel bars of small diameter at home, you can make a simple home-made device for bending the profile and reinforcement to "cold". It is better to bend metal in this way than to file or warm the bend.
Today on the Internet you can find many design options for bending machines, but dwell on one of the simplest. To make a homemade device for bending the profile and reinforcement, you need a 85 mm bearing, two small pieces of corner and a metal bar with a diameter of 15 mm.
The main stages of work
We clamp the corners in a vise, putting a steel rod between them so that they do not touch, and make a marking for the inner diameter of the bearing. After that, with the help of a grinder, we cut the corners along the marked line. Then we again set the corners in a vice and weld the 85th bearing on top.
On the other side of the workpiece, we weld a round plate with a vertical protrusion, which is necessary to secure the entire structure in a vice. Then we beat off the slag and protect the surface with a brush for metal. We weld a plate to the side of the bearing, and a handle to it.
At the junction of the handle and the plate, we drill a hole with a diameter of 15 mm and hammer a metal bar into it. As a result, we got a device for bending steel bars and fittings, as well as square pipes up to 10 mm thick. See the video for a detailed assembly process.
