In small-sized home workshops or, for example, in a garage, it is not always possible to install racks or cabinets to place all the available tools on their shelves.
However, the problem can be solved differently - for example, make a wooden chest with boxes for storing the instrument with your own hands. It will turn out to save a place in the workshop, and compactly place the tool.
The first step is to file the blanks for the assembly of the chest. You can use plywood or chipboard sheets. After that, the master makes the front wall with a rectangular "window" for two drawers.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, it will be necessary to cut out the remaining three walls of the chest, and then make a spike-groove connection at the ends of the workpieces.
Next, the assembly of the body of a makeshift wooden chest and the "docking" of the walls are performed. To make the connection reliable and durable, you must use carpentry glue (PVA or any other).
Then, from the wooden blocks, the master makes the elements of the inner frame, which then will need to be installed inside the chest.
At the last stage, the bottom and lid are made, as well as the drawers themselves. Then the master begins to build. For more information on how to make a large wooden chest with tool storage boxes with your own hands, see the video on the website.
