Concrete elements of decor have already conquered many interiors. This material gives a wonderful expanse of imagination.

A concrete chair of an unusual geometric shape harmoniously fits into many modern interior styles, and is also perfect for decorating a house adjoining territory.

In this review, the author clearly shows how to make a concrete chair in the loft style with your own hands.

First, decide on the shape and size, and then make a pattern of future faces from cardboard.

Measure the sides of the template and, giving the chair a width, transfer the dimensions to a smooth chipboard or plywood. Cut out future borders.

The main stages of work

Circle the chair template on the plywood and set it to a sufficient thickness so that you can sit on it. Set up the prepared sides around.

To make them stand level, strengthen them with triangular props. Seal the lower edge with a glue gun. From the inside, treat the seams with silicone sealant and smooth it.

So that the form is strong and reliable, instead of the sides we will completely fill it with dense foam. It is simpler and faster than constructing a box. Glue each layer securely to the previous one. Place a load on top of the foam until the glue sets.

Knead a thick cement mixture and lay it in small portions in mold. Level the resulting layers from time to time and mix with a long stick to get rid of large air bubbles and voids.

When you reach the top layer covering the foam, be careful not to make it too thin.

From the inside, our chair will reinforce the fittings. Criss-cross insert the rods and pour cement on top.

Now the top layer needs to be smoothed out and allowed to dry completely. Note that the solution that is not fully set remains brittle.

At the last stage, it remains only to disassemble the mold, cut the foam from the middle, shake off the cement dust and the chair is ready.

Using such uncomplicated technology, a very original modern piece of furniture has come out that will be convenient to use.
