First you need to prepare the following materials and tools:
- acrylic board and rolling pin;
- a pencil and a small sheet of paper;
- some white clay and black polymer clay;
- plastic knife for working with clay.
On a sheet of paper we draw a small swallow, focusing on the above photo. If artistic abilities do not allow you to redraw the bird, then you can simply print the image, adjusting the scale so that the size of the printed image matches the selected size of the pendant.
Cut out the image of a swallow along the contour with manicure scissors.
We roll out white clay on the board with a rolling pin and cover a swallow cut from paper.
With a knife, cut out the dovetail from clay, adhering to the edge of the cut out image. Carefully remove the paper swallow and remove excess clay.
Knead the black clay into the layer and place it on an acrylic board.
We put a paper image of a bird on the spread clay layer and carefully roll it with a rolling pin.
Cut the body of the swallow along the contour with a knife for working with clay.
We spread the resulting element on the foil, on which we will bake the product in order to no longer move the swallow and, accordingly, not to deform it. We remove the paper.
We place the previously cut breast inside the clay swallow body, to the place where it should be located.
We make an eye with a toothpick, and with a plastic knife we go along the contour of the swallow, removing excess clay and adjusting the edges. We pay special attention to the alignment of the beak.
Carefully roll the swallow with a rolling pin so that the white plastic prints to black and the surface of the suspension is smoothed as much as possible. After rolling, we repeat the procedure again with the alignment of the contour with the help of a knife - where we need to trim, where we need to squeeze and smooth the clay.
Having achieved the perfect appearance of the swallow, we send the suspension to the oven and bake at 110 ° C for 20 minutes (other temperature and time conditions can be observed depending on the instructions accompanying the polymer clay).
After our craft cools down, we glue a small ring (silver or gold depending on taste) to its wrong side, into which we extend a chain with a pre-stuck lock (you can take a silver or gold chain that is present among the jewelry). If desired, you can cover the product with glossy varnish. Swallow-pendant, a symbol of the beginning of a new happy life stage, is ready!
